Microsoft Builds JumpStart as Outbound Call Engine

Microsoft (News - Alert) launched an initiative in India earlier this year called JumpStart, a toll-free helpline, which has provided startups and entrepreneurs with resources to ask business and technical questions. Now the company is taking JumpStart to the next level by incorporating technologies that will let users leverage it as an outbound call engine for business lead generation.


Outbound dialers automate the process of switching between inbound and outbound calling, which when done manually can be confusing for the agents and generally results in decreased productivity. Outbound dialing tools are able to regulate the pace of the call flow, thus resulting in better efficiency.

According to Business Standard, JumpStart’s initial launch saw a lot of success. Entrepreneurs have had access to lawyers, tax and human resources service providers, and chartered accountants to help with their startup needs. These queries have been answered by professionals who have been trained by Microsoft.

“Microsoft Ventures supports startups at every stage of maturity by providing them with the tools, resources and expertise they need to succeed," said Joseph Landes, General Manager, Developer & Platform Evangelism, Microsoft India, in a press statement at the time of JumpStart’s launch back in April.

A select few who have successfully launched their businesses now can have access to the outbound engine.

“We are open to integrating the service with some of the citizenship services offered by governments where JumpStart professionals can answer entrepreneurship questions of the citizens,” said Rajinish Menon, director-startups at Microsoft Ventures India, according to Business Standard.

Auto dialers can be an integral tool to lead generation. It saves the agents time and aggravation by detecting and not connecting fax machines, operator intercepts (tri-tones), non-answered calls, and answering machines.

With JumpStart, startups will have the opportunity to be heard and have access to informed decision-making support, a critical component to business success.
