Patient Prompt's New Mobile Auto Dialer

The auto dialer is one of the best solutions for contact centers that don’t want to waste time making calls that can be made automatically. However, in light of the mobile revolution, auto dialer solutions can be considered outdated as they only meet the needs of landline phones. Until now.


Patient Prompt, a provider of patient communication technology, released an auto dialer solution that can identify whether a patient phone number is a landline or mobile, allowing its subscribers to automatically contact a patient via SMS. This new solution makes it much faster and easier for a subscriber to figure out whether a number is landline or mobile, getting the message to the patient via SMS as quickly as possible.

Auto dialer software is used by businesses that are looking to expand their marketing reach to a larger audience but at a lesser cost. This type of software can operate by itself so that businesses don’t have to spend money on a live representative. For the medical field, the new mobile auto dialer can take the weight off the office by eliminating one of their daily tasks: confirming the next day’s patients.

By automating the SMS part, Patient Prompt’s mobile dialer has eliminated the unnecessary step of filtering out mobile numbers in a database, which can take hours if there are hundreds of patients. The solution also has the ability to integrate into an existing EHR system and can provide confirmations through its SMS feature and update the schedule every three minutes.

“Previously, practices using dated auto dialer technology would be required to identify whether the phone number for the patient was a mobile or land number, supply it to its messaging provider and wait for a confirmation/call report the next day,” said Patient Prompt founder & president, Jeremy Greven.“By adopting our advanced solution, Patient Prompt can now identify the type of number and determine if it can receive text/SMS messaging.”

One the biggest problem of automated SMS systems is its ability to understand responses, so Patient Prompt has made it simple. When patients are sent a SMS reminder they can respond either yes or no to confirm their appointment and are also supplied with a link to the practice’s patient portal for the opportunity to supply additional comments.  

This new mobile feature is a step forward for the auto dialer industry as it begins to incorporate the new needs of consumer’s lives, which is their mobile phone. By expanding the reach to a mobile phone and with the ability to send text messages, businesses have a greater chance of capturing the attention of a user and executing their promotion.
