Disaster Recovery: Developing the Perfect Communications Plan for Your Business
How do you efficiently balance crisis communications? - Ensure that new hires can be easily integrated into your crisis communications plan
- Consider establishing a public hotline or ‘dark’ website that can be easily activated on short notice to provide information to your community during an emergency
- Establish a universal and easily accessible database with company information and disaster strategies/plans. Some vital information in this database should include company background information, critical documents, key contacts and passwords.
What to consider when developing a tactical response for planning voice/phone redirection:
- Set up processes and plans to re-establish your network connectivity, including e-mail, a virtual private network (VPN) and remote services, which can reduce downtime and more quickly solve equipment lock-ups.
- Stay in touch with key vendors and suppliers – the only way to ensure a seamless transition in the midst of an emergency is by ensuring that you’re first on the same page
