Minuteman UPS/Para Systems (News - Alert), a leading provider of power protection products and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), aims to protect servers, network devices, security systems and telephones during power outages or when there are large fluctuations on the power line.

This week, TMCnet decided to shed some light on Minuteman’s  Line Interactive UPS units called Entrust (News - Alert), power protection products that are designed to provide a simulated sine wave with automatic voltage regulation to protect servers, network devices, security and telephone systems. In short, these units provide a stable AC source during less than optimal conditions.

According to Minuteman, Entrust UPS units are available for 500, 700, 1000 and 1500 VA loads. A 15-foot power cord is available as an option for the 700 and 1500 VA models. Designed to serve small to medium load applications, the Minuteman Entrust series UPS offers automatic buck/boost voltage regulation from a slim-line profile.

Besides battery backup and voltage regulation, the Minuteman Entrust series also offers spike and surge protection. The maker claims that the new UPS line provides users with all the features that are normally found in higher-priced UPS products.  Some of these include HIDcompliant USB communication that is automatically recognized by all Windows software versions and require no special drivers. And SentryPlus auto-shutdown and monitoring software that comes embedded with every unit. No special downloads or coupons are required.

Each unit offers four outlets that provide battery support along with spike and surge protection. There are an additional four spike and surge protected outlets for accessory devices that don’t require battery support. Additionally, there are even two outlets that are specifically spaced to support transformer block items.

According to Minuteman officials, the small, uniquely designed, footprint of the Entrust UPS is suitable for placement on or under a desk. All models in the power protection series can also be installed vertically on a shelf in a rack or cabinet installation. In addition, Entrust products come with all the service and support capabilities offered by Minuteman including a three-year warranty, (two-years on the battery), and a $75,000 Platinum Protection Plan.
