Infonetics' biannual report, "VoIP and UC Services and Subscribers," found that both residential and Business VoIP services continue to grow in demand despite the decline in spending for other communications.
VoIP technology is the most rapidly growing segment in the telecommunications market, offered by all the major players. In general, a VoIP business line runs between $25 and $30 a month, versus a traditional business phone line running between $40 and $60.
The company's business VoIP phone system for SMBs offers a hosted PBX to reduce costs and adds a number of valuable features for businesses including an auto attendant, unified inbox, call forwarding, emergency services, and more.
The first, and often most mentioned benefit, is that of reduced long distance calling costs. Because VoIP phone systems do not require expensive cables and because the calls don't have to travel long distances over copper wires, its possible to slash overseas call costs.

Infonetics Research has released its second quarter market share and forecast report on Service Provider VoIP equipment and subscribers, which uncovered that worldwide service provider Voice over IP equipment revenue, reached $598 million in the second quarter of 2009. This figure is up 8 percent sequentially and down 32 percent over the second quarter of 2008.
A VendorGuru.com white paper, " Unified Communications Comes to Small Business VoIP," highlights how communications providers are now offering UC to smaller businesses via pay as you go, hosted and other scalable options that do not require any long term commitments or giant upfront investments.
While most business phone systems today have made the switch to VoIP, decision makers should weigh the pros and cons to choose the best option for their businesses needs.
