A dozen companies have signed on to participate in Fortinet’s new Fabric-Ready Partner Program, the company announced this week. That includes Brocade (News - Alert), Carbon Black, Centrify, Nozomi Networks, Palerra, Pulse Secure, Qualys Inc., Tufin, UBIqube, VeriSign Inc., WhiteHat Security, and Ziften.

"It's clear that isolated security devices don't solve today's cybersecurity challenges, companies need something different,” says John Maddison, senior vice president of products and solutions at Fortinuet. “They want integrated security, from IoT to the cloud, with actionable analytics across their multi-vendor networking and security solutions, all delivered through a single pane of glass view.”

Brocade is integrating with virtualization solutions. Carbon Black, Nozomi Networks, Pulse (News - Alert) Secure, and Ziften are integrating endpoint and IoT solutions. Centrify and Tufin are offering management integrations. Qualys and WhiteHat Security are using vulnerability management integration points. And UBIqube is focused on SDN integration with Fortinet (News - Alert) Security Fabric.

Program members must validate their integrations with Fortinet’s Security Fabric solution and commit to interoperability with it going forward. Fortinet has introduced APIs through which its partners can integrate with the Security Fabric at various points, including in the cloud, through the hypervisor, through logging and policy management, via an SDN orchestration controller, or in a sandbox.

Such integrations with the above list of companies and future program partners, Fortinet explains, means these solutions will be able to actively collect and share threat information and mitigation instructions with Security Fabric. That, Fortinet says, will broaden threat response from end to end, enhance overall awareness, and improve intelligence. The company adds that’s a much better approach to security than employing a variety of disconnected threat solutions.

“Integration goes beyond simply allowing third-party solutions to collect or redirect data and traffic,” Bill McGee and John Maddison write in a Fortinet blog posted today. “Fabric-Ready Alliance solutions can be integrated with the Fortinet Security Fabric to actively collect and share threat information and mitigation instructions in order to improve threat intelligence, enhance overall threat awareness, and broaden threat response from end to end.”
