Language Options Make Open Source Recording an International Utility

Open Source (News - Alert) Recording provider OrecX has seen tremendous growth in recent years. As the company continues to offer effective call and contact center solutions, the popularity of OrecX’s products has sky rocketed around the world. Because OrecX’s products are open source, they offer deep customizability that lets customer mold the utility to their exact needs. This fact has also allowed developers to quickly roll the utility out in new languages and quickly capture new markets.

Recently, the company celebrated a significant milestone with the effort to access these new markets. The company’s Oreka GPL software has officially been downloaded and used in over 145 countries, a testament to utility and wide-spread adoption of the open source project. While almost every country with a major ecommerce or IT industry is represented for a complete listing of where the product is seeing heavy adoption interested parties can check out the OrecX website.

Another major advantage of OrecX’s solution is that it’s relatively cheap in comparison to alternate call recording platforms. According to OrecX’s Co-Founder, Bruce Kaskey (News - Alert), “because the product was built off of the open source code we developed OrecXs’ product suite at a much lower cost, so we can pass the cost savings back to our customers.” The systems also has the benefit of being platform agnostic, so you won’t need to change hardware or operating systems to get the best out of the solution.

Oreka TR has also been able to offer languages support for the Cyrillic Russian dialect, Croatian, English, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. The localization process is simple. For th come to begin development on supporting another language, all that is needed is translation of two string resource files (orkweb.properties and my.properties).
