Apatar Announces New SugarCRM Connector

By Shireen Dee, TMCnet Contributor

Apatar recently announced its official connectivity to the SugarCRM (News - Alert) open source suite for the construction of a new SugarCRM connector that can be deployed by all business users with no requirement for coding skills.

The new SugarCRM connector assists in data filtration, validation and cleansing and does so by integrating the popular customer relation management system with a range of 3rd-party data sources via Apatar’s drag-and-drop interface.
According to the Aberdeen (News - Alert) Group, the biggest challenge faced while managing client data is the extraction of customer data from various dispersed sources.
This challenge is efficiently addressed by the new SugarCRM connector through which Apatar allows users to conveniently connect customer information between databases like Microsoft SQL, Oracle; files like CSV/TXT (Comma Separated Value/ Text) files and applications like Salesforce.com (News - Alert) as well as top Web 2.0 destinations like Flickr and Amazon S3.
“The SugarCRM connector will help us exchange data between our existing CRM system and Zimbra (News - Alert) open source messenger, saving thousands of dollars and reducing implementation time,” said Mark Gordon of Sonoma Creative. “Upcoming Zimbra and SugarCRM integration will also allow us to adopt new advanced capabilities into our own Zimbra-based products."
Another unique feature of the new SugarCRM offering is that it uses Apatar’s visual toolset in such a way that it is capable of performing a complex data integration job without the need for writing a code. Considering the fact that almost 65 percent of a corporate developer’s efforts are put in on creating bridges between applications, such a codeless integration of quality data, not only simplifies the integration process but also helps users as well as developers in the synchronization of data between the SugarCRM suite and data sources or applications that are available on-premises or on-demand.
“The open source community provides business users with an option to avoid a vendor lock-in,” said Renat Khasanshyn, chief executive officer and founder of Apatar. “But what users of open source software really like is the total cost of ownership. When you don’t have to pay license fees for database software, data integration, and business intelligence software, this alone makes a healthy difference to your bottom line.”
