SugarCRM Grows Revenue 60 Percent in the Third Quarter 2010

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

SugarCRM has reported record growth in customer and revenue momentum in the third quarter 2010.

The company experienced a 60 percent increase in revenue in this period and notes that the record quarter was due to an overwhelming demand for Sugar 6 – CRM made simple – in addition to continued growth of SugarCRM’s (News - Alert) global business channel.

Larry Augustin, chief executive officer of SugarCRM said that the continued momentum they are seeing around the world proves that businesses of all types now need more flexible, intuitive and open solutions.

“Businesses are smarter than ever, and understand the value of open solutions delivered through a trusted source.”

The spectacular third quarter saw the addition of 675 customers to SugarCRM’s client portfolio. The new customers are from multiple geographies and industries and include organizations such as AsureQuality, C3 (News - Alert)/CustomerContactChannels, Nurago GmbH, RealtyTech, Ticketscript BV, The March Group, and Nantes Métropole Développement.

Perry Sheraw, senior vice president at The March Group said that they picked SugarCRM On-Demand as they wanted to focus on their customers and not IT server hardware and complex software programming.

As SugarCRM integrates well with other current and anticipated applications, it eliminates the company’s need to create highly customized, difficult-to-support integrations on their own.

“All of this, along with the flexibility, low cost and the simple-yet-powerful user experience made SugarCRM an obvious choice.”

This quarter saw the release of Sugar 6, which is being greatly appreciated by customers and technology observers for its social CRM capabilities, user-friendly customization and personalization tools.

SugarCRM has also made available a Sugar Platform Edition for original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners and expects this release to extend the company’s reach into new markets.

SugarCRM attributes this growth in part to its channel partner network and has added

44 new partners, including Boost, Cambridge Partners, GFI Informatica, LxPN, Millenium Soft, Petre Software, and Remote Link.

“It's exciting to be part of the SugarCRM team, which understands the ever-changing needs of its end users,” said Cliff Parrish, chief executive officer of RemoteLink. “With offices in the United States and Asia, we accommodate not only special business cases but cultural differences as well. SugarCRM allows us to fulfill high expectations with complete flexibility at an attractive price point to our customers.”
