Intelestream Creates Online CRM System Catering to the SMB Market

By Kelly McGuire, TMCnet Editor

The small to medium business, or “SMB,” market has become a hot spot for businesses taking off in 2010. And with these evolving SMBs comes the need for an online CRM system that fits the nature and mold of the specific operational model.

Customer relationship management, or “CRM,” professional services provider Intelestream offers a variety of systems that give potential users an assortment of applications that are more preferable than other, more traditional systems.

Intelestream’s own CRM system, intelecrm, is specifically designed with SMBs in mind.

“With its flat fee for unlimited users, our pricing model encourages every member of an organization to get on board,” said Stafford McKay, marketing director at Intelestream, adding that the reasoning behind the offer is the understanding of the necessity of CRM for all companies looking to improve productivity, in a recent TMCnet interview.

While intelecrm is not an open source application, it can be customized by the Intelestream team to fit each customer’s specific – and incredibly tailored – needs.

As an overall business strategy, CRM should be used and comprehended by everyone – from the receptionist to the CEO.

“Traditional CRM software is priced according to user count which forces small and medium sized companies on a budget to limit access to key personal,” McKay said. “We believe that is a major fault in the industry and decided long ago to do something about it.”

“The idea here is that as a company grows, so does its sales records and need for storage. When a company reaches the point where it has more customers in its database, it theoretically can then afford to spend more on CRM as this should be a sign of increasing revenue,” McKay added.

So, Intelestream developed its own CRM system which incorporates functionality normally only found in costly enterprise applications that have traditionally been inaccessible to smaller companies.

By listening to direct feedback from Intelestream’s customers, the company was able to take the needs and suggestions of individuals who directly use the systems and put together all the functionalities and requests of its users into a unified platform suited for the SMB market.

“Our feature set is the result of years of developing custom CRM applications for our Professional Services customers,” McKay said.
