Xelerated has announced that the company has sampled its HX family of network processor units. These NPUs are now available to system vendors and service providers, the company has announced.

Offering a break-through of speed and integration, the HX family of NPUs integrates Ethernet MACs, programmable switching and advanced traffic management for the delivery of fine-granular Quality of Service. Facilitating system vendors to design products for more advanced Ethernet and IP services, it provides a single-chip solution with extraordinary service density. Xelerated (News - Alert) is making available a range of software and tools to ease the development of new generation Carrier Ethernet switches and routers.

 

Xelerated offers network processors and programmable Ethernet switches for the Unified Fiber Access and Metro Ethernet markets. The chips support 10-100 Gbps with integrated packet processing, switching, Ethernet MAC and advanced traffic management for rich services at competitive price points.

The software and tools provided by Xelerated include the company's reference design kit, software development tools, and data plane software. The HX RDK facilitates design, integration and testing for a range of high-capacity interface options while the Metro Ethernet Application is a full-featured data plane software. The Software Development Kit is an integrated development environment for coding, testing and debugging of data plane software.

 

Recently, the company announced a strategic partnership with Accton Technology (News - Alert) Corporation to provide products for the unified fiber access market. The products include point-to-point Ethernet, PON and Mobile Backhaul, the companies have stated in a press release. The upcoming Interop (News - Alert) show in Las Vegas will feature a Gigabit Ethernet fiber access switch, developed jointly by Xelerated and Accton. The product is designed to serve the quickly emerging next-generation fiber access market.
