Network Processor: Growth in the Americas Prompts Advantech Wireless to Add Two Executives

By Ashok Bindra, TMCnet Contributor

Canadian-based network processor provider Advantech Wireless continues to grow in North America and Latin America. Success on these two American continents has prompted the satellite, RF and microwave systems manufacturer to bring onboard two world-class senior management officials.

While Pierre Cardinal joins Advantech (News - Alert) Wireless as vice president of sales for North America, Paul Sandoval comes on board as vice president of business development for Latin America.

To expand the company’s North American presence, Cardinal will work closely with the marketing, sales and PLM teams. His extensive industry experience and diverse market exposure will drive new initiatives for Advantech Wireless within North America, said the manufacturer.

Cardinal started his career in telecoms as a sales manager for Teleglobe. Prior to joining Advantech, Cardinal held senior management positions at Sprint Canada, Cisco, HP ProCurve (News - Alert) and more recently at SR Telecom, where he was vice president of sales for North America.

Likewise, Sandoval will work closely with the marketing, sales and PLM teams to oversee this expansion, as well as ensure all customers’ needs are properly satisfied. In this position, he will also complement Misael Andrade, vice president of sales and strategic accounts for Latin America.

Sandoval’s recent telecom career positions included director of technical marketing at Comstream/Spar. In addition, he was also a senior director at Hughes Network Systems (News - Alert), a senior manager at PCA Business Group and director of business, Latin America at Viasat.

Sandoval holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Massachusetts, and a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from Simon Bolivar University.

Incidentally, the Canadian network processor manufacturer also concluded major sales in Brazil and Mexico for its satellite communications product line. These include ATM 75 modems and redundant switches, SCPC and DVB-RCS VSAT solutions.
