Lancope, a provider of flow-based security, network and application performance monitoring solutions, announced its flow analysis tools have been cited in a January 2011 Forrester Research (News - Alert) report that highlighted network analysis and visibility (NAV) technologies.
Forrester Research, in its report titled, “Pull Your Head out of the Sand and Put It on a Swivel: Introducing Network Analysis and Visibility,” describes how NAV tools provide the situational awareness needed by today's networking and information security professionals.
Lancope's StealthWatch, a NAV tool that leverages NetFlow and other flow data from existing routers and switches, provides end-to-end network visibility and reduces the time from problem onset to resolution.
The solution also eliminates network blind spots and reduces the time, cost and complexity associated with troubleshooting issues by providing a unified view for both network and security professionals, company officials said.
With its ability to analyze up to 1.5 million flows per second, StealthWatch is able to meet the needs of even the largest networks. Organizations can also address the challenges such as increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks and comply with more stringent compliance regulations.
The constant, comprehensive monitoring feature in StealthWatch provides advanced capabilities such as application performance monitoring and identity awareness that enable organizations to detect internal misuse. StealthWatch can also uncover sophisticated external attacks that bypass perimeter defenses.
“Lancope has been providing innovative solutions to increase visibility for enterprise networks for more than 10 years,” said Mike Potts, president and CEO of Lancope, in a statement. “We are excited to see leaders like Forrester educating organizations on the importance of bringing internal controls up to a level necessary to meet modern threats.”
According to Forrester Research, “most networking and information security professionals have no insight regarding the behavior of internal traffic and the potential threats incumbent with that traffic.” The report concludes saying NAV tools have the capacity to uplift visibility in a highly scalable manner.
Recently, Lancope demonstrated at the HIMSS 2011 conference how its NetFlow solution can be leveraged to increase healthcare network visibility, security, performance, and application delivery.
The NetFlow solution for Healthcare is designed to provide end-to-end network visibility and monitoring for healthcare organizations and cost-effectively improve network operations, as well as achieve compliance.
