'It's Way Better': Contingent Rolls Out National Integration Project for Wendy's Restaurants

By Erin Harrison, Senior Editor

If Wendy’s mantra upholds its “way better than fast food” promise, it’s speed will now be “way better,” too thanks to a recent network installation for over a thousand of their restaurants.

Contingent Network Services completed a national rollout of integrating HM electronic timing devices for 1,330 Wendy’s corporate restaurants in 43 business days, according to company officials.  Wendy’s/Arby’s Group, Inc. is the nation’s third largest quick service restaurant company and is comprised of the Wendy’s and Arby’s brands, according to company officials. The $12 billion company owns or franchises over 10,000 restaurants.

“Contingent has truly done a great job on the HME integration project. They have consistently worked very hard to ensure the best possible outcome for our restaurants. They have partnered not only with us, but with HME to quickly resolve issues as they have arisen. I am very glad to have them as part of this team,” said Michael Weber, program manager legal technology at Wendy’s/Arby’s Group, Inc.

According to company officials, this particular project fell under Contingent’s StoreWorX service offering for retail-specific networks with a focus on ROI. In addition to StoreWorX, Wendy’s also utilizes Contingent’s NetMedX for field repair and troubleshooting, as well as MACWorX, a field infrastructure installation service for telecommunications companies.

The Cincinnati, Ohio-based company specializes in a variety of information technology services focused primarily on design, deployment and management of wide area network and local area network infrastructure. Contingent itself is not a carrier, a reseller or an agent but a “managed services provider” that is technology, vendor, and carrier neutral, according to company officials.

As TMCnet recently reported, Contingent has gained national notoriety for its technology and network-related “break-fix” services in North America, according to Russ Maney (News - Alert), principal and co-founder of Xponential Group, a Louisville, Ky.-based technology procurement services company that represents Contingent.

The company also provides managed services and individual project implementation services for wireless system virtual private networks, local area networks, voice over Internet protocol or “VoIP,” wide area networks, servers and desktops, including the installation, structured distribution and support of all of these and more. Contingent dispatches qualified field personnel that can arrive on site, anywhere in the country in two hours, company officials said.
