Singapore-based REVE Systems, a VoIP solution provider, recently launched a complete retail IP telephony platform the, "iTel Mobile VoIP Solutions" for Indian VoIP service providers.
With the introduction of REVE Systems' customized IP telephony solutions for call centers, small and large ITSPs and carriers, India has stepped-into the competitive market of mobile VoIP.
Company officials claim REVE Systems is the first to introduce the complete retail IP telephony platform for Indian service providers.
In addition, company officials pointed out that a contract has already been signed between REVE Systems and a telecom service provider in India.
'By the end of year 2010, the Indian telecom industry would have crossed at least three landmarks: Reaching the 600 million mark, implementation of mobile number portability and the start of 3G services,' said Sanjit Chatterjee, global marketing head & country manager-India at REVE Systems.
With launch of 3G services, more mobile users will want cheaper media for mobile calling.
Chatterjee said that with more than 20 million NRIs outside the country and India's growing international presence, long distance calling from India is growing rapidly.
With mobile VoIP, Indian mobile users can stay connected with the world in a manner that is also lighter on the wallets.
