FirstIn Wireless Technologies Aims Big at Cellular Long Distance and Roaming Charges Market

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

FirstIn Wireless Technologies, a mobile telecommunication company specializing in mobile roaming and long distance charge savings, is planning to enter the highly promising cellular long distance and roaming charges market.

As the first step of this expansion, FirstIn will launch its smartphone applications that will save users a minimum of 50 percent over regular carrier costs.

The company also plans to offer discounted services for cellular long distance and roaming, said FirstIn president André Beauchesne, in a statement.

A recent research has revealed that cellular long distance and roaming market will surpass $70 billon in 2014. Providers are competing to offer lower international rates and excellent quality to attract thousands of customers who want to connect with family and friends. The market sees rapid growth due to the ever growing business and leisure travels.

Further, top 10 percent of business users in an enterprise spend on average $700/month on international long distance and roaming fees. However, the market still lacks a simple, affordable and business-quality service, the company said.

“The average cellular cost for a business traveler is over $800 a week. FirstIn's application is targeted to the traveler niche market, it is easy to install and will save any traveler over 50 percent on roaming and long-distance charges,” said Beauchesne.

FirstIn uses a hybrid VoIP technology for its mobile Apps and platform that allows for anywhere, anytime mobile communications at significant cost reductions.  The service is available for companies as well as individuals.

The roaming application helps travelers avoid these hassles by providing them an application which they can use to make or receive calls regardless of their location. The service does not require any access codes, PINs, calling cards, SIM cards or devices. There are no operator charges.

The hybrid VoIP  technology does not replace the user’s existing wireless service; rather it augments it with global communications capabilities, FirstIn said. Users can get the service for the same low price and exceptional sound quality of a local call – anytime and anywhere.
