REVE Showcases New Session Controller: Carriers, Get Ready to Handle More Traffic

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

Service providers are always looking for new ways to offer easier, more robust capabilities for customers and find solutions that make things easier on themselves too. When it comes to VoIP, IP switching platforms offer a chance to more quickly, efficiently and securely route data packets.

VoIP software solutions provider REVE Systems is looking to make it easier for carriers to attain these benefits with their latest offering, “REVE Session Controller” or “RSC.” This carrier grade advanced IP switching platform is touted by the company as offering high-performance hardware that enables it to efficiently meet the high service level requirements of wholesale carriers for multi-protocol wholesale peering.

To show off all its bells and whistles, the company put the offering on display this past week at the Asian Carriers Conference in the Philippines – one of its large target markets.

Sanjit Chatterjee (News - Alert), REVE Systems’ director of global marketing, said the company’s participation at the event was the perfect opportunity to share its latest session controller with wholesale carriers. Of particular benefit Chatterjee said are “greater redundancy, advanced route management, and higher system capacity.” With these advancements carriers not only get better versatility, but can now also manage larger volumes of traffic.

The Philippines has been in the spotlight most recently as growth in next-gen networks increases and carriers continue to roll out new networks and network technologies at record rates.

The latest release of a new session controller from REVE also coincides well with the latest research findings from Infonetics (News - Alert) which showed router and switches for service providers worldwide had revenue increase 27 percent to $4 billion during the most recent quarter, compared to Q1.
