Mobile VoIP Service Providers Benefit with Branded Opportunities
By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor
The demand for mobile solutions is obvious in the broader market as consumers leverage mobile devices and applications at a rapidly increasing rate. At the same time, companies are implementing Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) to streamline communications and reduce the costs associated with voice interactions. When the two technology platforms are combined, the potential benefits are extensive.
Benefits also exist for the mobile VoIP service provider thanks to companies like REVE Systems which offers its iTel Mobile Dialer as a way for the mobile VoIP provider to optimize current market opportunities for new revenue generation. The iTel Mobile Dialer Express allows users to make a VoIP call from a mobile phone and was designed to match VoIP service provider requirements as well as consumer needs.
Whats even more important perhaps, is that when partnering with REVE Systems, these providers can completely brand their mobile VoIP offering. This branding goes so far as to include logo placement on the smartphone screen when users select the iTel Mobile Dialer for placing a call. Logo placement helps to reinforce the value of the brand as it relates to the performance of the solution.
REVE Systems demonstrates how the placement works across all platforms, including Android, Symbian (News - Alert), Apple, BlackBerry and Windows on their website. Mobile VoIP service providers can also include the company name up to 50 characters at the top of the screen. A fully branded header can include an icon, the company name or both, according to the preferences of the provider. In addition, the footer includes the company’s URL, also up to 50 characters.
Branding options vary according to the selected REVE Systems service. For instance, generic branding of the header icon is included in the iTel Mobile Dialer Mini Gold, iTel Mobile Dialer Easy Gold, and iTel Mobile Dialer Express Gold, while the iTel Mobile Dialer Platinum offers a customized solution. The same is true for the header display on the smartphone. The headline and footer can be customized with any of the iTel Mobile Dialer options.
Benefits don’t simply exist for the mobile VoIP provider, however. The dialer is also easy to download and use for the subscriber. Service provider customers simply download the dialer on to their mobile devices. Little configuration is needed to complete the process and the user can start making calls right away.
On the backend, the dialer is configured with the service provider’s softswitch IP automatically. iTel Mobile Dialer Express supports G.711, G.729, AMR-NB and GFM codecs. Efficient implementation of jitter buffer is included in the application, while silent suppression and comfort noise generation technology improves the overall experience.
