Late last week, REVE Systems made the formal announcement that they had landed a Finalist's slot in the Red Herring (News - Alert) Top 100 Asia. While a Finalist's slot isn't the same as actually being on the list itself, it does offer some prestige all by itself, and that makes REVE Systems' announcement all the more important.

The Red Herring Top 100 Asia list includes technology ventures in the Asian region that represent the most promising of their type in the market. The list is put together list using a variety of different criteria, including the innovative nature of the technology involved, the quality of the management team, the quality of execution of stated strategies, market size, and so on.

This is why REVE Systems made the list, as they had all of these things and plenty more besides. REVE Systems offers a wide variety of tools in mobile VoIP, as well as Softswitch-Billing capabilities and several other software applications. REVE Systems has, at last count, 1450 different customer firms spread out over 65 countries, which is a pretty solid application indeed of most any strategy there could be, in a pretty substantial market. This makes them a prime candidate by Red Herring's own standards.

In describing Red Herring's reasoning to put REVE Systems in a Finalist's slot, Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO, said that "REVE Systems shows great promise, therefore deserves to be among the Finalists. We know that the 2012 crop will grow into some amazing companies that are sure to make an impact." Whether or not REVE Systems can convert its substantial customer base, clever execution, and top-notch technology into a full ranking on the Red Herring Top 100 remains to be seen--the awards will be announced at an event in Sept. - but one thing's for sure, at least from the outside looking in, REVE Systems has just what Red Herring is looking for in a Top 100 firm.
