Pervasip Mobile VoIP App or Android Boasts over 35,000 Downloads

By Jacqueline Lee, Contributing Writer

Pervasip released a statement on February 8 celebrating the 35,000th download of its VoX Mobile VoIP application for Android (News - Alert) devices. “We are excited about the viral success of the application and feel we are adding some key elements to make it even better,” said Barry MacCheyne, CMO of VoX Communications, a subsidiary of Pervasip.  “We also plan to initiate an Internet marketing campaign with a major partner to dramatically heighten awareness and exponentially grow downloads.”

Users of the app can enjoy free unlimited texting and calling to other VoX mobile customers. Over Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G networks, users can send free SIP/VoIP messages and voice calls to VoX users anywhere in the world. Multiple telephone numbers can be set up on the same device, and users can enjoy a completely private voicemail account. While there is no monthly contract required, users need to have a data plan with their mobile device for the calling platform to work.

Pervasip plans to include several upgrades to VoX in the coming months, including video calling, international calling plans and a prepaid international usage feature. In addition to having its app in the Android Market, Pervasip plans to release an app in the iTunes store for the iPhone (News - Alert) and the iPad.

This announcement is the second piece of good news for Pervasip inside of a week. Pervasip also learned that it will be able to retire over $13 million dollars in debt at a cost of only $1.7 million, thanks to a deal struck with the JDM Group. Paul Riss, CEO of Pervasip, said, “We know how much it will cost us to retire our debt, and we are confident that we will be able to plan the required payments so that the debt is extinguished in its entirety by year end. As a result, we believe we will be well-positioned for incremental growth as an international service provider for video phones and the rapidly growing VoIP mobile application marketplace.”

Pervasip’s VoX broadband voice technology utilizes a system of Linux server farms that are similar to search engine technology used by Google. The system allows them to scale their platform to the growth of any business and to offer reliable and predictable service to customers.
