Dialogic Corporation -- a global provider of mobile video and other technologies -- has announced the beta availability of the DiaStarServer, version 1.1.
DiaStar’s release will bring a variety of existing video features from the Dialogicproduct portfolio to the Open Source/Asterisk (News - Alert) marketplace.
According to Dialogic, these new features will help developers to create applications for fixed and mobile phones, such as IVVR systems, video surveillance systems, video gateways, mobile advertising and banking, multimedia social Networking and basic video call completion.
The new video features of the Diastar Server include:
• Multimedia processing with advanced video transcoding (MPEG-4 and H.263), which enables the development of advanced video gateways and media servers;
• Video conferencing, which displays a video conference to multiple callers;
• Video resize, which adapts high-quality content to display on smaller-size video-enabled phones;
• Video play/record, which allows for the storage and forwarding of video content for IVVR, video portals and many other video applications;
• Video DVR controls, which lets users navigate through video content with familiar controls that make using an application simple and intuitive;
• Native streaming and native play/record, which reduces the transcoding burden for increased density per server.
“We are really excited to bring this complex feature set to the developers in this market and to enable them to utilize these features directly from the Dialplan,” said Steve Gladstone, senior vice president for Dialogic’s (News - Alert) Media Enabling Product Group. “By making these functions easy to use, we hope to unleash a lot of creativity around video applications in this market.”
