Ice Cream Sandwich is the Android codename with the dessert-theme for version 4.0 update of the open source Android mobile operating system. As Google’s (News - Alert) “everywhere” operating system for smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices, Ice Cream was launched at the end of 2011.

Recently, ZTE (News - Alert) announced that it will unveil its first Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone with Intel (News - Alert) Inside, the ZTE Grand X IN. This ZTE flagship handset is expected to be launched in Europe in September.

The Grand X IN provides rapid and smooth performance with the help of the low power with Intel Hyper-Threading Technology, and support for HSPA+ 21Mbps network. Allowing for a fast browsing and a responsive Internet experience, these Intel technologies together assist in providing end users with an energy efficient, high performance user experience.

The ZTE Grand X IN comes equipped with a 4.3-inch, 16 million color screen, a best-in-class 8MP camera, Blu-ray quality movie playback and long battery life with a 1650 mAh, Li-Ion battery, the company stated in a press release.

“The Grand X IN is ZTE's first flagship smartphone in Europe to feature Intel Inside, and we look forward to building our partnership with Intel," said Mr. Ao Wen, vice president of Europe Operations for ZTE Handsets. "The handsets in the ZTE Grand portfolio are quality devices focused on providing a great level of service and, with the inclusion of Intel's technology in the Grand X IN, we have provided a handset with enhanced capabilities, reliability and performance.”

Recently, just one week after the release of the official version of the mobile device operating system, the company introduced its first Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) handset in China. Being the first Android (News - Alert) 4.1 smart phone launched in China and the third in the world, the ZTE N880E smartphone runs the Google Experience version of Jelly Bean. Other ZTE handsets will be introduced soon with Android 4.1.
