Doug Makishima, chief operating officer of D2 Technologies (News - Alert), provider of embedded IP communications software platforms, will moderate and participate in “4G Devices: Perspective from the Operator, Device Manufacturer and Component Vendor” at 4G Wireless Evolution, held in conjunction with ITEXPO (News - Alert) West 2010 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, October 4-6.

The presentation by Makishima, taking place on Monday, October 4 at 2:15 p.m., will address how the industry is responding to the new opportunities presented by the many features and capabilities of 4G devices, as well as how the addition of WiMAX and LTE (News - Alert) networks affects the component marketplace.

A breakout session within the Mobile Communications track at ITEXPO West 2010, called “Achieving HD Voice on Smartphones,” will also be presented by Makishima on Tuesday, Oct 5 at 11:30 a.m. During this forum, Makishima will discuss how the delivery of high definition voice is being supported by the industry and what adaptations will need to take place within the service provider sector.

Jan Linden, vice president of engineering for Global IP Solutions, Jim Machi, senior vice president of marketing for Dialogic (News - Alert) Corporation and Michael Stanford, consultant are also some of the other panel participants.
