Axiros, a company that deals in open device management solutions, recently announced that it has been selected by Liberty Global (News - Alert), an international cable operator, to remotely provision and manage its customer premise equipment (CPE) across a new B2B Voice over Internet (VoIP) service.
According to the terms of the partnership, Axiros will provide Liberty Global its AXESS.ACS (News - Alert) solution. Liberty Global will deploy the solution within its SoHo division and then extend from there to other strategic projects.
AXESS.ACS is ideal for management of CPEs with Broadband Forum (News - Alert) compliant CWMP (TR-069) stacks but also other open management protocols. It enables highly flexible and scalable interactions with a large number of devices for the purposes of (re-)configuration, mass firmware downloads, fault clearance and general real time subscriber support. The solution offers advanced features like remote device management, zero touch provisioning, customer self-service portal support, workflow engine that supports inter-device management tasks and more. Axiros claims that the solution has been deployed and productive at more than 35 percent of Europe’s top 50 operators and carriers.
Axiros CEO Kurt Peterhans says he is pleased to partner with Liberty Global. "We're very proud to have been selected by LGI to lay the foundation here for future strategic Device & Service Management," he says. "The Axiros solution platform will provide a competitive advantage by ensuring seamless quality of experience & profitability."
In related news, AXESS.ACS software from Axiros has been integrated into the ZyXEL WLAN Management System (ZWMS). The integration helped ZyXEL carry out extensive WLAN deployment effectively and helped Axiros extend its reach into the enterprise market. ZyXEL asserted that it sees stability and innovative structure as the major value indicator of its offerings and thus provides businesses with scalable and feature-rich Wireless LAN solutions. Its portfolio of wireless solutions caters to a range of customers from telecommunications service providers to small- and medium-sized businesses and home users.
