MobileIron has introduced a new, secure mobile content promotion for its AppConnect ecosystem, which it says will solve the primary mobile content challenge: providing workers with mobile apps they love, while keeping corporate content secure. More specifically, the AppConnect ecosystem, which is built on MobileIron’s enterprise mobility management (EMM) platform, now allows IT to securely manage users’ apps without getting in the way of their preferred mobile experience — now at a lower price.

According to MobileIron, this promotion relies on the premise that “one size does not fit all.” As such, it also relies heavily on a number of partnerships the company has made over the last year or so, namely integration agreements with Accellion, Acronis, Box (News - Alert) and WatchDox. By leveraging these integrated solutions, AppConnect can meet the IT department’s security needs, while offering the content management experience workers prefer.

MobileIron has made other partnerships over the last 12 months that similarly advance this goal — such as integrating Framehawk, a start-up that specializes in fast, secure mobile access, into the AppConnect system — but the company is focusing on the above-mentioned partnerships for the time being. This probably has to do with the fact that Accellion, Acronis, Box and WatchDox are all offering their AppConnect-enabled products at a promotional price for a limited time.

"Our ecosystem features some of the most popular mobile business apps available," said Sean Convery, vice president of product management for MobileIron, in a statement. "Employees have understandably focused on usability while Mobile IT has to demand security. This AppConnect program gives both groups exactly what they need: the productivity apps that are driving mobile adoption in the first place, with the security our customers need to embrace the change."

The AppConnect ecosystem combines MobileIron’s app, content and device management capabilities with more than 50 productivity apps (with another 100 in development). However, this promotion only lasts for a limited amount of time, so now seems as good a time as any to give AppConnect a try.
