Bringing Santa Claus into the 21st Century

By Ryan Sartor, Content Quality Editor

There has always been controversy surrounding Santa Claus: Does he prefer chocolate chip or sugar cookies? Should you leave a window open at your home if you don’t have a chimney for him to get down? And then, of course, there’s the Naughty and Nice list.

A new infographic from FinancesOnline.com and Ruby Media takes on some of these big questions about the jolliest man around. Let’s take a look at some of their most festive suggestions for ways that Santa can update his tech output this holiday season.

Who’s Naughty and Who’s Nice?

The way things are going, the NSA may have access to the Naughty and Nice list before St. Nick himself. By using the Transcranial Pulsed Ultrasound and Utah Data Center, Mr. Claus will be able to transmit high-frequency sound waves to specific regions of the brain, helping to quell any potential naughty behavior and send the information to the data storage facility, which is Exabyte-capable.

Holiday Wish List

While every young girl and boy has a list of gifts that they’d like Santa Claus to place under the tree, the amount of data that this adds up to can be overwhelming for the elves in Santa’s workshop. By utilizing the Tiarhe-2 Supercomputer, elves will be able to analyze all of the gift request data on the world’s most powerful supercomputer, which is capable of 33.86 petaflop/s (in other words, quadrillions of calculations per second).

Supplemental Gift Delivery

While Santa Claus likes to delivery every gift personally, once Amazon Drones take off, they’ll offer a new way for Santa to drop off extra gifts to even more boys and girls. It’s unlikely that anyone will be opposed to the idea of even more toys for everyone.

Santa’s Sleigh Can Fly Unseen

With telescopic technology increasing every day, it’s important for Jolly St. Nick to remain incognito, which Optical Camouflage Technology will allow. This LED and camera combo will make Mr. Claus virtually invisible, allowing him to learn on rooftops, avoiding detection completely.

These are just a few ways that Santa Claus is working to stay relevant in the 21st century. Take a look at the below infographic for the full list. Happy Holidays!
