Level Platforms, a provider of remote monitoring and management software and services platform to deliver comprehensive IT support to small and mid-size (SMB) businesses, has recently expanded its Managed Workplace with the addition of mobile device management (MDM) capabilities.
The Managed Workplace from Level Platforms is the hybrid agentless technology featuring extensive management and automation features. It integrates with any current IT ecosystem, allowing IT service providers to support all the IT products and services their end customers rely on from a single Web-based dashboard.
The mobile device management capabilities are available as part of Managed Workplace 2012 R2 Feature Pack 1. They help managed service providers (MSPs) simplify and speed up e-mail configuration, improve performance and enhance security for new smartphones and tablets from Apple (News - Alert).
Additionally, some of these features include iOS e-mail configuration policies supporting EAS, in addition to POP3 and IMAP4 mail solutions. With these capabilities, end-clients can lower operating costs and address critical security concerns as sensitive corporate material is shared and accessed on mobile devices. Other features include roaming detection to alert an MSP when a device changes mobile networks, new configuration policies to improve iOS device security and functionality, and restricting the use of application such as cameras in high-security environments for iPhone and Android (News - Alert) devices.
“As device manufacturers expand the performance of mobile devices, we’re rapidly evolving our own MDM capabilities within the Managed Workplace platform to introduce new levels of configuration, management and monitoring for MSPs serving the small and medium business market,” said Gordon Rielly, CTO, Level Platforms, in a statement.
