Mobile device management provider MobileIron has just revealed it is expanding into the Asia Pacific region due to multiple customer wins. To accommodate this growth, the company has just opened new offices in Sydney, Australia and Singapore.
This expansion has been driven by the increasing demand for mobile device management solutions from different industry segments.
“In Asia Pacific region, the demand for mobile app management and mobile device management is growing exponentially and the need spans all industries. In the last few months, we have won major customers in financial services, hospitality, and aviation industries among others,” said Bob Tinker, CEO, MobileIron, in a statement.
According to Tinker, companies are continuing to turn to MobileIron for its robust mobile device management and mobile security management solutions that can drive business transformation through bring your own device (BYOD) initiatives.
Looking at the Asia Pacific specifically, the mobile device management provider has seen its customer base grow by a staggering 300 percent year-over-year. These customers include investment firms, banks and government agencies.
Recently, MobileIron signed the Australian Capital Territory Government as a new customer. Australian Capital Territory Government will be teaming with the company in order to support its BYOD program. Other major customer wins in the region include Allens, one of the largest law firms in the Asia Pacific region; and Sensis, which is managing its iPad deployment with MobileIron.
To meet growing demands, MobileIron has tripled its number of employees. The company also expanded its distribution partnership with the addition of over 50 reseller partners and more than 10 carriers including SingTel (News - Alert), Telstra, and Optus. In addition, over 200 partner engineers are trained to deploy and support MobileIron.
Moreover, to strengthen the company’s mobile device management portfolio and deliver reliable services to customers, the company opened a data center in Australia to deliver the MobileIron Connected Cloud, the only cloud-based mobile application and mobile device management solution with real-time integration into existing enterprise resources, regional customers.
