Mobile Device Management is Key for Every Industry

By Jamie Epstein, TMCnet Web Editor

If you have a smartphone – and let’s face it, most of us do – It would foolish not to leverage some type of mobile device management solution. Why? Because in a world of daily hackings and cyber attacks of big name companies, no one is safe.

MDM is in essence software that secures, monitors, manages and supports mobile devices deployed across mobile operators, service providers and enterprises and its s main objective is to provide a high level of security on a mobile communications network, while supporting multiple devices and continuing to reduce cost and downtime. This applies to both company-owned and employee-owned devices across the enterprise or mobile devices owned by consumers. With that being said, mobile device management can benefit all companies across all verticals no matter if it is education, healthcare, manufacturing, retail and hospitality, technology, financial or government.

In fact, just today, TMCnet had the news that the U.S. Defense Department has begun to leverage a vital MDM strategy, as many of its employees utilize both smartphones and tablet computers in their work lives as well as their private lives.

Powering a “national dialog” on mobility strategies, a platform that highlights multiple issues including security, usability and practicality, the government quickly realized it was in need of a solution that could dramatically increase security while adhering to rigorous and ever-changing mandates.

MobileIron, a company known for its suite of innovations helping the growth of the mobile device management space, has held steadfast to the belief that next-generation mobile apps can yield multiple benefits to organizations around the world including ramping up employee productivity.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 26, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Modo Labs and MobileIron will be joining together to power a not-to-miss event that discusses best practices from a financial services firm in regard to enterprise app development, distribution storefront and mobile app management that delves deep into topics including: app integration and maintenance, app development/QA cycles, in-depth process-level support, silo-based mobile app discovery, and distributing all apps no matter the size in a safe manner.

Adam Stein (News - Alert), who leads the marketing department at MobileIron and has over 20 years of experience with networking, mobility and security hardware will be joining forces with John Kimmit, global director of Solutions Sales, Vodafone (News - Alert) Global Enterprise alongside with TMC’s very own Stefanie Mosca to spearhead this webcast.

Anyone that wants their company to continue to see long term success and become virtually unhackable to technology masterminds should be sure to attend this event.
