Mobile device management (MDM) solutions provider SOTI revealed it is helping Transportistas Unidos Mexicanos (TUM), a Mexico-based freight company, to manage the mobile devices of its remote workers in a highly secure manner.
TUM has deployed SOTI MobiControl, an enterprise-grade mobile device management solution, to manage and secure Samsung (News - Alert) Galaxy Y and Samsung Galaxy Pro devices used by its mobile workforce. The MDM solution helps the firm prevent the security and risks associated with managing multiple mobile devices from different users.
SOTI MobiControl supports Samsung Android (News - Alert) devices and comes with features such as remote control, device lockdown and location-based services. The mobile device management solution enables TUM to quickly and efficiently deliver to its customer base an array of apps. And in case the mobile devices are lost or stolen, the devices are locked or wiped down at a moment’s notice. This feature allows the firm to safeguard sensitive information.
"SOTI has made huge inroads into the Latin American market recently, including establishing a successful relationship with TUM," said Carl Rodrigues, president and CEO, SOTI, in a statement. "SOTI MobiControl equips TUM's IT helpdesk and field workers with the ability to provide timely support, expedite the resolution of software issues, push updates and access crucial information on the location of shipments.”
Leveraging MobiControl's unique capabilities, TUM can enhance efficiency and deliver an optimal return on investment (ROI). With its multiple mobile device management capabilities such as location services and tracking, SOTI can monitor shipments and ensure packages are delivered safely. To address technological issues that drivers may encounter on the road, the solution’s real-time remote support tools are used to assist users and correct problems remotely. These features improve productivity and overall operational efficiency of its fleet drivers.
"MobiControl streamlines the efficiency of our devices," added Sergio Valtierra, IT manager, TUM, in a statement. "Our goal is to offer our customers world-class service delivery that ensures that their goods are delivered securely and on schedule. SOTI MobiControl takes enterprise mobility to new heights, assuring our drivers receive round-the-clock support whenever they are on the road."
In another related development in the industry, Trustmarque has inked a partnership with Sophos to deliver a mobile device management security service –Nimbus Mobile Device Management (MDM) – which will offer over-the-air control for mobile business devices. The Nimbus MDM was developed by DIALOGS, recently acquired by Sophos.
