MobileIron, a provider of mobile device management solutions which help companies remain safe from cyber attacks when allowing employees to work on-the-go, and collaboration provider of extended enterprise collaboration services, YouSendIt, Inc., have teamed up to help enterprises provide secure business-to-business content access and collaboration.
With this just inked partnership, the customers of mobile device management provider MobileIron will now be able to centrally provision YouSendIt's enterprise product line, Workstream by YouSendIt directly from MobileIron's Enterprise App Storefront, making it easy to deploy YouSendIt's Android, iPhone (News - Alert) and iPad apps across the enterprise.
Workstream makes managing and sharing business content as simple as sending an email by delivering a completely integrated and consistent user experience. It is used by business professionals to securely access and share content, collaborate with partners, sign contracts and deliver them to customers wherever they are.
Today, with more and more professionals using their own mobile phones and tablets for business applications, content security has emerged as a top concern among IT. Through this joint effort, both YouSendIt and MobileIron will be addressing the need to apply a common security layer across apps and users.
In a press release, Ojas Rege, vice president of product at MobileIron said, "We are seeing iOS, Android (News - Alert) and tablet adoption within enterprises grow exponentially." As a result, enterprises are increasingly turning to us for secure access to the best-of-breed mobile applications. A partnership with YouSendIt was natural given our mutual focus on secure enterprise mobility."
Brian Curry, chief product officer, YouSendIt added, "With Workstream and MobileIron, users can securely collaborate with partners and vendors beyond company firewalls and enterprises can avoid the big risk points associated with external collaboration."
In related news, TMCNet reported last week that MobileIron is now working with iPass Inc (News - Alert)., a Wi-Fi and enterprise mobility provider to companies around the world, in order to integrate mobile connectivity, application management and device management that will fully support a workforce that is becoming more mobile by the minute.
