California-based MobileIron has just been selected as a Technology Partner for mobile device management (MDM) in the Avaya (News - Alert) DevConnect Program.
The Avaya DevConnect Program is designed to help promote the development, compliance -testing and co-marketing of innovative third-party solutions that are compatible with standards-based Avaya solutions.
As a Technology Partner for mobile device management (MDM) in the Avaya DevConnect Program, MobileIron is expected to deliver interoperability with Avaya's unified communications and collaboration portfolio. The interoperability will help companies easily deploy unified communications solutions to mobile devices.
"Avaya's mobile collaboration solutions give business users access to every day communications in order to increase their productivity," Eric Rossman (News - Alert), vice president of developer relations, Avaya, said in a statement. "DevConnect (News - Alert) Technology Partners like MobileIron provide enterprise IT with tools to secure and manage the apps and mobile devices."
The innovative mobile device management solutions from MobileIron address the challenges arising out of “Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)” strategies that are continuing to be adopted by several organizations at a rapid pace. The increasing complexity created by these devices makes it important for IT departments to be able to fully support multiple operating systems and ensure security for the enterprise network more than ever.
MobileIron provides a scalable solution for mobile device management, security and enterprise app storefronts. And the company’s platform enables companies to secure and manage mobile devices and apps, as well as increase mobility and overall efficiency of their business.
"MobileIron technology enables customers to provision Avaya Unified Communications (News - Alert) applications, network resources and security parameters on mobile devices," Ojas Rege, VP of Product, MobileIron added. "We deliver Avaya software packages with our apps@work storefront, and easily remove applications and data if the device is lost, stolen or removed from service."
Earlier this year, MobileIron showcased how its enterprise mobile device management and security platform work in the Verizon (News - Alert) booth at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
