Mobile Device Management Provider Fiberlink Gets New Distributor in South Africa

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

Fiberlink, a provider of software as a service (SaaS (News - Alert))-based mobile device management solutions for enterprises, has just inked a partnership with NetXactics, a South Africa-based distributor of IT products, to distribute and support Fiberlink's MaaS360 solution across Africa.

The cloud-based MaaS360 mobile device management platform enables IT organizations to gain intelligent mobility and control over their mobile devices, applications and content. The Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) trend makes it imperative for enterprises to keep its corporate data secure across multiple mobile devices including smartphones, tablets and laptops.

MaaS360 supports enterprise mobile device management across a vast array of mobile operating systems, including iOS, Android (News - Alert), Windows Phone and BlackBerry. In addition to this multi-platform support, the service also delivers instant availability without infrastructure changes.

NetXactics was certified through Fiberlink MaaSters Partner Program. As a certified member of this program, the IT distributor is entitled to receive training and ongoing support on its range of mobile device management solutions.

“Maas360 manages and secures over a million devices at enterprises around the world, and fits in perfectly with our vision to offer our clients a growing complement of recognized international products,” said Brett Myroff, CEO of NetXactics, in a statement.

“This ensures operational efficiencies, reduced support costs and an enhanced overall mobile experience for employees. IT can further apply central policy management and monitor compliance for smartphones, tablets and laptops all from one system,” Myroff added.

According to Neil Florio, vice-president of marketing at Fiberlink, the partnership with NetXactics will enable the company to expand its mobile device management solution to the African market.  “NetXactics's focus on customer service and expertise in delivering security solutions combined with MaaS360's true cloud-based approach will create more value for our customers as they embrace employee use of consumer devices,” Florio added.

Earlier this year, TMCnet reported that Fiberlink had revealed that the MaaS360 mobile device management solution is now being used by O2 (News - Alert) Business for the “Joined Up People” service.
