Odyssey Software (News - Alert), a provider of enterprise-class mobile device management (MDM) software, claimed that through its Athena MDM software it is offering enhanced support for Android (News - Alert) 4.0.
The Athena software has been integrated with several new features that improve its capabilities for Android 4.0 devices including a device management policy that can be used to remotely disable cameras on a managed device for users working in sensitive environments, as well as enhanced password controls with more granular settings for device password requirements.
According to the company, Athena is designed to complement and extend existing management platform capabilities, and allow organizations to preserve current infrastructure investment. Officials with Odyssey claimed that the popularity of Android devices is being carried into the enterprise and securing corporate data on these devices is a critical challenge for IT administrators. Athena now provides expanded capabilities for managing and securing Android 4.0.
The unique modular architecture of Athena, coupled with the flexibility of the Odyssey Software organization, has allowed for the rapid adaption and incorporation of these new platform enhancements.
