OpenPeak (News - Alert), a provider of mobile device management platforms, hast just the launched its new OpenPeak Enhanced Software for Android (News - Alert) that offers advanced security and manageability of smartphones and tablets.
The new OpenPeak Enhanced Software for Android seamlessly integrates with the company’s cloud-based OpenPeak ADAM Advanced Device and Application Management platform. The integrated mobile device management solution ensures even greater visibility, management and security of mobile devices in the enterprise, a press release revealed.
The new mobile device management software for Android offers both multi-profile and multi-user support for exceptional access control and security. Multi-user support is especially useful among large groups or corporate customers. It enables multiple users to share a single device with separate logins to access each of their unique sets of information and applications.
“The ubiquity of mobile devices is creating quite a challenge for IT security admins who must balance the need for stringent enterprise security with users’ demands—they expect to be able to use their personal smartphones and tablets for business purposes both in the office and while they’re away,” said Dan Gittleman, CEO of OpenPeak, in a statement.
“The OpenPeak Enhanced Software for Android satisfies the needs of both IT and employees with an easy-to-use solution that offers a higher level of security and flexibility for the fastest growing mobile OS,” Gittleman added.
The mobile device management solution from OpenPeak is marked by extensive policy-based VPN support and connection management for PPTP, L2TP, L2TP/IPSec PSK and L2TP/IPSec CRT, enabling enterprises to meet the most stringent compliance standards.
The solution features a powerful policy engine that enforces actions, such as forcing the use of virtual private networks (VPNs) in specific environments or the locking or wiping of a device if it's outside a certain range. Policies can also control data roaming to manage costs.
In addition, the OpenPeak mobile device management software also features a built-in enhanced e-mail client and offers fully encrypted 3DES or AES e-mail capabilities with address white listing/blacklisting and enhanced ActiveSync integration.
For advanced mobile device and application management in the cloud, the OpenPeak ADAM platform also integrates seamlessly with the OpenPeak Enhanced Software for Android, expanding functionality to include remote access, management and control with a tier-based provisioning system.Rajani Baburajan is a contributing editor for TMCnet.
