DeviceAnywhere (News - Alert), a provider of mobile application testing, has recently extended the capabilities for its Rational Quality Manager 3.0.1. DeviceAnywhere offers easy mobile device management through a seamless integration of DeviceAnywhere’s Test Automation for Smart Devices and IBM (News - Alert) Rational Quality Manager 3.0.1. This integration has already been validated ‘Ready for IBM Rational.’
According to a press release, DeviceAnywhere provides an enterprise-class cloud-based SaaS (News - Alert) platform for testing and monitoring the usability, functionality, performance and availability of mobile applications and websites. Michael Loria, vice president of IBM Rational Business Development said, “Through this latest integration, DeviceAnywhere offers customers the rich feature set offered by Rational Quality Manager combined with a proven mobile quality platform.”
The Test Automation for Smart Devices features that are now integrated with the Rational Quality Manager lets users test web apps on any device. Businesses need to make sure that apps will work when first launched and through use of the Test Automation for Smart Devices, users can formulate automated tests on any mobile device or tablet. With this product errors can be quickly pinpointed, which can in turn greatly reduce costs that are usually associated with fixing bug and performance related issues.
Simplified testing processes can take place as part of the Test automation feature because it allows for an easy way to make sure software is of high quality, while cutting costs that occur when having to test something more than once. Users of DeviceAnywhere Test Automation for Smart Devices have been shown to reduce testing time on average by 70-80 percent when compared to manual processes, the release stated.
In addition, end-to-end management can occur with little effort because all testing steps and proofs including both screenshots and videos are then transferred to the Rational Quality Manager to keep track, ensuring that projects always stay on target. Any issues can be then be quickly visualized, whether they are taking place in the back office or on actual devices.
“Businesses are realizing that mobile is no longer a nice to have but a strategic channel to be exploited both internally and externally. We are building upon a longstanding integration with IBM to help developers, QA managers, engineers and business analysts take control of the mobile opportunity and bring quality mobile applications to market faster than ever before,” said Faraz Syed (News - Alert), CEO and co-founder of DeviceAnywhere. “We look forward to working with IBM at Innovate 2011 to educate companies on our solution.”Jamie Epstein is a TMCnet Web Editor.
