Toktumi Instructional Video Highlights Ease of Use, Mobile Communication Features

By David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor

A recent video from Gold Mail’s Toktumi (News - Alert) -- one of the more creative personalized license plate-style names we’ve seen recently -- introduced users to the company’s setup procedure.

Toktumi sells mobile communications app Line2, currently in its third version. It’s designed to provide users with a Tri-mode (WiFi (News - Alert), 3G/4G, cellular) calling app. With Line2 users can place and receive calls over Wi-Fi, 3G/4G data connections and over cellular using the same number.  WiFi and 3G/4G data calls use VoIP, allowing users to place and receive calls and texts even when they don’t have a cell signal.

Peter Sisson (News - Alert), founder and CEO of Toktumi, noted during the video presentation that after logging in, there are six options to set up such features as voice mail and call flow, forwarding numbers, announcement settings and others.

Earlier this month TMC reported that Tony Perkins, founder and editor of AlwaysOn, introduced the first annual OnMobile (News - Alert) 100, which looks at “the top emerging companies transforming big industry and creating viable business models for the mobile marketplace.” Toktumi was placed on the list.

The listing is intended to identify the top 100 private companies pushing into the mobile space and turning the old smartphone into a must-have connected device, Perkins said.

The instructional video notes that Toktumi can send a call to up to six forwarding numbers when the Toktumi number is called, and “the first one you answer takes the call.” The tool also allows users to set up an auto attendant, which as Sisson explained, allows callers to reach different departments or people or special messages, depending on the keys they press.

Early this year TMC’s (News - Alert) Calvin Azuri reported that Users of Android phones and tablets can download the Line2 app in the Android marketplace.
