Telco Systems Releases Redesigned Access211 VoIP Gateway

By Mae Kowalke, Associate Editor

Telco Systems, a provider of carrier-class transport and access solutions for public and private IP and TDM networks, today announced the release of a new, contemporary design for its Access211 VoIP media gateway.

The Access211 allows providers to offer high-quality VoIP service—using traditional analog phones and fax machines—to residential and small home office customers. The new design is nearly half the size of its predecessor, freeing up desktop space and reducing associated networking expenses.

Telco’s gateway supports two independent analog voice lines. It comes with an Ethernet port for connection to a home computer, and an uplink port for connecting to a cable modem or DSL modem. The product supports lifeline functionality in the event of a power or VoIP network failure.

“Access211N is distinguished from all other VoIP gateways in its class for its superior voice quality and routing functionality,” said Dave Lee, Telco’s Vice-President of Marketing and Services, in a press release. “Now Access211N is also distinctive for its new appealing design.”

Lee added that the new model of Access211 is small enough to fit in a pocket, making it mobile.
