The telecom IT services market is clearly growing, and one recent estimate predicts the IT services market will be worth over $233 billion by 2019.

The report predicts the worldwide telecom IT services market to jump from $67.38 billion in 2014 to $233.05 billion in 2019. North America will likely be the largest market, and Europe and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region will likely see “increased market traction” during the five years, the report says.

The telecom IT services market for these estimates includes such solution types as customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise mobility, mobile commerce, network management, and supply chain management. It also includes operations support systems (OSS) and business support systems (BSS) solutions. The varied deployments include on-premise and cloud-end users; small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs); and enterprises.

The findings are found in the report "Telecom IT Services Market by Solutions (CRM, Mobile Commerce, Enterprise Mobility, Network Management, Supply Chain Management, OSS BSS and Others) - Global Forecasts to 2019” by MarketsandMarkets.

Among the biggest players in the telecom IT services market are Amdocs, Ericsson (News - Alert), HP, IBM and Oracle. They provide both services and solutions.

“The market has seen these players grab high amount of market share,” a statement about the report says. “Companies such as IBM (News - Alert) [and] HP have moved towards providing separate solution and services for small and medium business (SMBs), owing to the high demand for IT services by these industries.”

It is clear that telecom operators can benefit in many ways from IT services. “Not considering the significance can prove to be fatal for operators,” the report statement warns. They can be used to lower costs among operators. They also provide more efficient service. It is likely that operators will have a better understanding of their customer needs, as well, by using IT service. That will improve customer satisfaction and reduce the number of customers who opt to discontinue service, the report advises.
