Based in Broomfield, Colo. Level 3 Communications (News - Alert) has brought business-wide communications to a whole other level, literally. In fact, the company is currently highlighted as powering one of the world’s largest communications and Internet architectures over an IP-based network. Plus, it only helps its case that Level 3 has a strong alliance with master agent Telarus (News - Alert) and is a gold sponsor of the agency.
In spite of the fact that a couple of month’s back many thought that the union between CenturyLink and tw telecom (News - Alert) would soon be completed, that may no longer be the case. This is due to the fact that Level 3 Communications looks like it may have thrown its hat into the mix in order to purchase the business communication provider based in Denver. This is according to Keith Meister, the mastermind behind Corvex, a tw telecom shareholder who also owns shares of both firms.
“Great space, growing trends, great companies," Meister commented in a separate report. “There is massive value in an M&A context [for Level 3 to acquire tw telecom]."
If this acquisition does happen, what affect will it have on organizations who work closely with Level 3 Communications, say for example master agent Telarus? Well, it could help to significantly expand the communications providers footprint around the globe, which in turn would blow open the doors of new opportunities for the agent.
Continuously growing its footprint into new territory has been a goal of Telarus’ since its very beginning. Just last week, the master agent was named Earthlink (News - Alert) Business’ top producing channel partner for 2012. The Utah-based organization was given this prestigious recognition due to its seamless integration of EarthLink’s products into its robust, real-time tool coined GeoQuote.
“We congratulate Telarus, their employees, their leadership team, and their sales partners for an outstanding 2012," said J.R. Cook, vice president of the Partner Channel for EarthLink Business
First patented 10 years ago, GeoQuote can rapidly quote transaction products being sold to businesses by carriers, assisting partners in generating a quick but highly accurate price quote for their many clients. In October of last year, the platform made headlines when it powered over 1,000,000th real-time quotes with an error rate of less than two percent.
