Master agent Telarus has been named the top producing distributor of Windstream (News - Alert) in 2012.


This is the sixth straight year Telarus has been rated as No. 1 Windstream partner. It is the first year of achievement after the merger of PAETEC (News - Alert) and legacy Windstream indirect sales channels.

Windstream provides advanced network communications, including cloud computing and managed services, to businesses nationwide. The company also offers broadband, phone and digital TV services to consumers primarily in rural areas. Windstream has more than $6 billion in annual revenues and is listed on the S&P 500 index.

2012 was a commendable year for Windstream as the company set a new sales record for its indirect channel, growing by over 55 percent from 2011. 

Telarus sells Windstream solutions to wholesale community because it makes it easy for them to quote and get support, according to company officials. As a result, partners get the best solutions at the best price while customers are able to enjoy customized data, voice and cloud solutions offered by Windstream.

Windstream highlighted the master agent as holding a key responsibility for this success, especially its employees and sales partners. 

John Leach (News - Alert), EVP of Sales for Windstream Communications, said in a statement, "Our partnership has yielded unique benefits through the integration of our quoting systems and sales support teams. As we continue to reinvest in our award-winning business data, voice, and cloud product lines, we anticipate continued success both with Telarus (News - Alert) and our other valued channel partners in 2013." 

Telarus, however, attributes part of the company’s success to the support the master agent partners receive from Windstream local channel managers who provide localized, personal assistance. The firm becamse a master agent for Windstream after acquiring Nuvox in 2009 and powers GeoQuote, a real-time availability and quote tool that combines real-time carrier pricing with advanced research features and branded proposals.

The intuitive product allows partners use to sell transactional services for Windstream and their other suppliers. The software also provides a localized view of Windstream's fiber endpoints that are helpful in researching high-capacity broadband opportunities.
