Only last week, it was revealed that master agent carrier XO Communications (News - Alert) would be significantly upping the ante on its Ethernet services by incorporating 100MBps Ethernet over copper (EoC) access speeds. Additionally, it will be expanding its Ethernet infrastructure to approximately two million business locations throughout the country.

“The master agent carrier will expand its nationwide EoC coverage by the end of the year and bring the total number of XO Ethernet-eligible local switching offices to more than 500 nationwide. This will enable XO to reach nearly two million U.S. business locations. This expanded coverage, along with their along with their Ethernet network-to-network interface (NNI) agreements with dozens of carriers and cable companies, will give them one of the most extensive Ethernet access networks in the industry, according to a recent article featured on the Channel Partners Online website.
