The Internet of Things (IoT) means everything is becoming connected, including our homes, our cars, our businesses, our cities and our devices. The ways manufacturers operate, managers track assets and companies use big data are changing, and it’s because of machine to machine (M2M) technology.
Scott Nelson, PhD, CTO and EVP of enterprise growth of Logic PD, was recently appointed to Multi-Tech (News - Alert) Systems’ advisory board, where he will leverage technology, experience and knowledge from Logic PD to create market platforms for connected solutions and the Internet of Things.
Logic PD enables companies to develop products and solutions that accelerate growth. It has experience in machine to machine technology and connected devices to help provide data and business insight and improved productivity, device control and access. It serves a variety of industries and markets, including aerospace and defense, control and automation, IoT and M2M, medical and life sciences, precision agriculture and test and measurement.
Nelson brings more than 25 years of experience leading technology and product development to the advisory board, and worked at Honeywell (News - Alert) for 12 years in various research and leadership positions.
"Multi-Tech has been a leading brand in M2M/IoT for over 40 years and I am very excited to have been asked to work with them as they move forward on their next chapter," said Nelson, in a statement. "As an IoT System Integrator, Logic PD collaborates with companies like Multi-Tech to develop new solutions and I look forward to seeing the new products they are developing for these fast growing markets."
Multi-Tech Systems’ M2M communications products and services power applications for transportation, energy, healthcare, financial, retail and remote monitoring areas to help reduce costs, time and inefficiencies. Its products range from communications gateways to embedded modems to device servers, and the company’s more than 80 patents power more than 20 million devices worldwide.
"Scott brings deep product and market knowledge in the M2M and IoT markets that will be invaluable to us as we continue to re-focus Multi-Tech on developing groundbreaking products in these high growth areas," said Rodney Landers, CEO of Multi-Tech. "As one of the largest product realization consulting groups in the U.S., Logic PD is a market leader in helping clients launch products that accelerate growth and capture value in the Internet of Things (IoT). Therefore, we are pleased Scott has accepted a position on our advisory board."
