Multi-Tech Systems has been delivering popular M2M (machine-to-machine) communications solutions since 1970 with just one aim in mind – helping customers achieve the shortest path to M2M connectivity, from concept to implementation.
The M2M provider was keen to help developers add a variety of M2M communications technologies to products with a minimum of development time and expense, and hence announced the MultiConnect PCI (News - Alert) embedded mini card communication modules, which utilize a PCI Express Mini Card form factor and deliver penta-band HSPA+ 21 performance.
Designed for the European market, the PCI Express Mini Card Communication Modules allow the option to add voice, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or GPS technology onboard the same PCIe card. This ability to add a host of options in one integrated M2M package is, according to Gregg Zastrow, senior product manager at Multi-Tech (News - Alert), what really makes this device stand out.
The advantage of such multiple options is that the MultiConnect PCIe is well positioned to assure end users that almost all their application connectivity requirements – present and future -- are adequately taken care of.
Moreover, the MultiConnect PCIe is also packed with other features. An on-board power supply regulator ensures optimal radio performance, up to three UFL antenna connectors help simplify hardware design, and there is an on-board SIM card holder as well.
A developer’s kit is also available, which allows developers to plug in the communication module and use it for testing, programming and evaluation. Mobile system designers now have a true plug-n-play storage device that allows for short design cycles and fast time to market.
“Perfect for remote video surveillance, asset tracking or a whole host of M2M applications, the MultiConnect PCIe provides build options to meet diverse deployment requirements,” said Zastrow.
This quick-to-market communications device offers extremely high-performance and high capacities up to 64GB and hence is considered suitable for highly data-intensive applications. It is regarded as a high quality, reliable solution that provides stability throughout the product’s entire life cycle, but perhaps what is more relevant is that it removes the complexities of M2M application development.
Multi-Tech has simplified M2M for thousands of customers around the globe by living up to its mantra –“If we don’t have it, we will develop it.”
