Wireless access and enterprise mobility provider Bluesocket (News - Alert) has announced that its customer base has surpassed 3,000 organizations making the outfit one of the largest in the enterprise mobility and wireless LAN (WLAN) market.

Mads Lillelund (News - Alert), president and CEO at Bluesocket, said with the company’s “steady offering of innovative, flexible technology” customers have come to recognize and depend on Bluesocket’s ability to provide a clear path to next-generation wireless solutions.

In the past year, Bluesocket has accelerated both new customer acquisition and follow-on sales to existing customers, strengthening a customer base that spans several key vertical markets including education, enterprise, healthcare, hospitality and government.

Several new customers have purchased both wireless infrastructure and voice over IP (VoIP) solutions from Bluesocket, taking advantage of the converged mobility and unified communications strategy the company is executing since its acquisition of Pingtel - a leader in SIP-based enterprise communications solutions.
In addition, the company said it is increasing innovation around next-generation wireless technology has helped it to expand its customer base worldwide to more than 47 countries.
The majority of Bluesocket’s wireless LAN customer transactions now include both its BlueSecure Controllers and BlueSecure Access Points. Driving the company’s complete mobility solution sales are features such as end-to-end application Quality of service (QoS) support; a full-featured stateful-inspection layer-3 firewall; robust role-based authentication; and integrated guest access and credit card billing.
Additionally, Bluesocket is currently the only vendor with second generation multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) technology. With thousands of enterprise MIMO access points shipped, Bluesocket has gained valuable real-world experience deploying MIMO technology, a key element of the coming 802.11n standard.
