Least Cost Routing: Annecto Picks DIGITALK's SBC VoIP Peering App

By Juliana Kenny, TMCnet Managing Editor

Annecto, which offers retail, wholesale and mobile traffic solutions, has selected communications solutions provider DIGITALK as its new least cost routing platform provider for wholesale services.

The company has selected DIGITALK’s (News - Alert) Session Border Controller (SBC) VoIP Peering application, which is a highly scalable and robust, end-to-end solution for international Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) wholesale services. DIGITALK enables service providers to deliver a range of advanced Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) and Internet Protocol (IP) services from a single network infrastructure. The company unveiled its SBC VoIP Peering (News - Alert) in last November.

VoIP Peering offers a high capacity and low footprint network solution for international wholesale services with a complete integrated operations support capability, according to company officials.

Following the migration to the DIGITALK SBC VoIP Peering solution, Annecto can perform least cost, quality and margin-based routing to support both superior service levels and operational profitability, company officials said. One of the critical elements of the solution is the integral software-based transcoding that expands the carrier routing options available while eliminating the need for third-party integration. The distinct advantage over alternative solutions formed a major part of the decision for selecting DIGITALK.

In addition to significant solution enhancements, it was DIGITALK’s comprehensive 24/7 support and commitment to its development program that were the over-riding reasons for change, according to company officials.“We really like DIGITALK’s overall ethos and simplicity of the concept – being plug and play, everything in one place, a direct support team, and a development future already mapped out,” said Vj Odedra, CEO of Annecto, in a statement. “Everything has been well thought out to suit the needs of the operator and its customers. It is a perfect fit.” “Not only do we address the squeeze on margins from the relentless market change with our advanced functionality, but we’ve also introduced a set of intuitive and powerful management features in a single user interface,” said Justin Norris, CEO of DIGITALK. “We’re confident we’ve cured a few headaches in one go and provide our customers with the tools to have a very powerful operation.”
