Attention: The KMWorld award nominations for knowledge management projects are now open.
KMWorld officials say they’re giving out the awards because “We believe knowledge management is much more an attitude than an application, and for the past 10 years we’ve celebrated the potential of delivering the right information to the right people at the right time through our awards program. The nomination forms are now live.”
Submit your nominations at the link. Criteria include the KM project having been in place for a minimum of one year, demonstrating senior management support, and having defined metrics in place to evaluate the program and its impact on organizational goals.
Nominations close September 1.
“One of the greatest challenges for organizations purchasing technologies is to determine which companies will deliver on that promise,” KMWorld officials say, noting that “this award is given to the organization that is delivering the promise to its customers by providing innovative technology solutions for implementing and integrating knowledge management practices into their business processes.”
Finalists for both awards will be featured in the November/December issue of KMWorld magazine, and the winners will be announced live at the KMWorld Conference, Nov. 1 to 3, at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, D.C.
The organization that wins, KMWorld officials say, will have demonstrated how it goes beyond simply delivering technology to working with clients “to ensure that both the technology and knowledge processes are embedded into the work processes,” and bring about positive business results.
Because part of the problem is the fact that, unfortunately, in many organizations knowledge management is just rhetoric. The recipient of the KM Reality award, KMWorld officials hope, will be “an organization demonstrating leadership in the implementation of knowledge management practices and processes by realizing measurable business benefits.”
Earlier this year TMC had the news that Consona Corporation (News - Alert) was named as one of the "100 Companies That Matter in Knowledge Management" by KMWorld. KM practitioners, theorists, analysts, vendors, and their customers and colleagues compile this list each year and included Consona for its innovative Knowledge Management software for the ninth straight year.
