Knowledge Management Software: Consona Organizes SIG Event on Advanced Scheduling

Consona Corporation (News - Alert) has revealed the success of a recent special interest group (SIG) event on the topic of Advanced Scheduling.

Attended largely by users around the Midwest and East regions, an overview of the scheduling theory was presented at the event. In addition, there were various demos, tips from both current users and Consona product experts, interactive discussions and opportunities to learn from other industry professionals.

A majority of the participants had already deployed the Made2Manage Advanced Scheduling module. Company officials said that they were looking to better leverage its capabilities. Additionally, many of the attendees showed interest in implementing the solution.

“I really enjoyed the user presentations,” said Keith LeCompte of Quality Control Corp., adding that the stories of success, and also trials and tribulations, help users or potential users appreciate the product more.

Calling the event “very informative,” Tracy Smart of Cobham Sensor Systems, said that it tied up a lot of loose ends in scheduling -- which was great.

For the Made2Manage ERP solution, the Advanced Scheduling module helps users to “quickly” schedule and sequence all activities in the work centers so they can hit targeted delivery dates.

Company officials said that M2M Advanced Scheduling combines Theory of Constraints methods and powerful optimization technology, helping achieve maximum shop throughput.

“The excellent attendance and value received from this SIG workshop shows that those in our market are continuing to find ways to improve their systems and leverage them even more,” said Scott Malia, chief operations officer at Consona.

Earlier this year in March, the company announced the general availability of Consona Knowledge Management Version 8.0 (KM v8.0).
