For many years now, Rubidium has been innovating speech processing solutions for embedded applications. Its specialty has been low cost, low footprint, low power, multilingual, market-driven, voice-user interface solutions that are highly flexible and easy to incorporate in any consumer product. Is it any surprise then, that it has sold over 50 million copies of its embedded voice and speech technologies to date?

“The 50 million mark is a big deal for us at Rubidium,” said Shlomo Peller, founder and CEO of Rubidium.

Anyone can have a vision, but to translate that into reality is never easy. It requires hard work, dedication, a sense of commitment and the power to innovate and think ahead. Rubidium was able to convert its initial success in the consumer device market to much more when its ‘low resource voice’ made mobile device makers, chip manufacturers and DSP providers sit up and take note.

“When we started Rubidium nearly 20 years ago, we had a vision of a voice user interface providing consumers with intuitive, hands-free control of their electronic devices,” noted Peller.

And today that vision has become a reality; the company’s ‘low resource solutions’ are not only available for a large selection of processors, chips, software environments and embedded applications, but flexible enough to be incorporated in essentially any consumer product.

Rubidium had an opportunity to fill the ‘low cost, low power’ need, and succeeded in making a mark in a variety of industries that ranged from mobile and wireless to automotive and home appliances. Naturally, its footprint in the consumer device and semiconductor industries, expanded. It claims that its technology can be found inside over 25 million products in the market place. No mean achievement that.

With embedded voice user interface pushing itself into the forefront, and semiconductor companies discovering that Rubidium's technology syncs well to cloud-based speech functionality, it’s one long cake-walk on Cloud 9 for the company.

Rubidium has a lot of aces up its sleeve. It plans to bring more robustness and quality, greater accuracy and clarity to its products, and promises a spate of innovations that will very likely send the company spiraling into success.
