Leon Medical Centers, a multi-specialty healthcare services provider based in Miami-Dade County has forged a technology partnership with Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based Integrated Document Solutions (IDS), for its web-based Speech Recognition, Mobile Dictation and Workflow Solutions
Leon Medical Centers offers medical services exclusively to Medicare patients in Miami-Dade County through its seven Super Medical Centers located in Miami, Westchester, East Hialeah, Bird Road, West Hialeah, Kendall and Flagler. Its diagnostic offerings include CT scan, Digital X-rays, Ultrasound, Echocardiogram, and others. It also offers a range of medical services that includes primary care, specialties, dental, on-site pharmacy, vision, hearing, physical therapy and laboratory.
The radiology reporting process involves high-end imaging technologies and IDS’ cloud computing workflow portal, mobile applications, and speech recognition technology is expected to streamline the process for the center, according to a press release.
In addition to helping Leon address the critical issues of divergent workflows relating the radiology reporting process, IDS solutions are also expected to improve operational procedures and maintain regulatory compliance for Leon.
“Leon Medical Centers (LMC) has a tradition of investing in technologies that continually improve patient outcomes and customer service. We evaluated several technologies that will enable LMC to add to existing diagnostic modalities while improving operational performance and quality. IDS stood out for its ability to customize workflow to meet our unique needs,” Leon Medical Centers' Chief Operating Officer Aristides Pallin clarified in a statement.
Under the partnership, Leon's radiologists have been using IDS's speech recognition application Voice2Dox since the beginning of this year. The health care facility is using document diagnostic imaging studies and experienced reduction in the turnaround times and also a reduction in the transcription costs.
IDS AbbaDox is aWorkflow Portal in the cloud that allows organizations to rapidly and cost-effectively automate their patient documentation processes. Centered on powerful electronic patient charts, AbbaDox features a comprehensive suite of tools that securely archive patient data and seamlessly integrate into existing work processes with minimal change of behavior.
Integrated into Leon’s IT infrastructure, IDS’ AbbaDox ecosystem is helping the hospital to streamline patient scheduling and picture archiving process. Using this system, the providers are now able to unify worklists and standardize reports across Leon's locations and facilities throughout the county.
“Because we serve a predominantly geriatric population, timely and accurate diagnosis is critical. The AbbaDox system interfaces with our existing technologies and Electronic Medical Record, which allows radiologists and physicians to provide treatment and secure our patients' health,” Director of Clinical Services at Leon Maureen Desoria explained in a statement.
Few months back, Diagnostic Imaging Services of New Orleans, Louisiana announced that it has achieved 70 percent speech recognition adoption rate in one month using IDS's radiology reporting solutions. The IDS technology has enhanced their workflow, drastically improved turnaround time and cut operating costs.Want to learn more about the latest in communications and technology?
